If You Are a Fraud Victim

While victims of fraud rarely see their money again, it is important to provide law enforcement with information to locate the fraudster and to help prevent others from becoming victims.

  • Report all fraud scams to the FTC hotline at 877.382.4357, or online at ftc.gov.
  • If the scam originated from an online auction or classified service, report it to the host website.
  • If the scam originated through the mail, notify the U.S. postmaster.
  • Report charity scams to the Better Business Bureau at give.org.
